Introduction

Momentum ("we," "our," or "us") is a calm, daily check-in app that helps you track whether each day moved you forward — without streaks, badges, or guilt. Your privacy is central to how the app works: no account is required, and your check-in data stays on your device.

This Privacy Policy explains what information Momentum handles, how it is used, and your choices. By using Momentum, you agree to the practices described here.

Summary

  • Your boards, daily check-ins, and app settings are stored locally on your device using Hive.
  • We do not operate a backend or user accounts.
  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • A one-time lifetime purchase (processed through Apple or Google via RevenueCat) is required to unlock the full app.

Information Stored on Your Device

Momentum stores the following data locally on your phone or tablet:

  • Boards — names and settings for your tracking spaces (e.g., work, health, a project).
  • Daily entries — the date and status you select each day (Gained momentum, Held steady, or Paused).
  • App settings — week start preference, onboarding status, reminder preferences, and whether lifetime access has been unlocked.

This data never leaves your device unless you choose to back it up through your device's operating system (e.g., iCloud or Google backup).

Information We Do Not Collect

Momentum is designed to minimize data collection. We do not collect:

  • Your name, email address, or other account credentials (no sign-up is required).
  • Your check-in history on our servers (we have no servers for this data).
  • Precise location data.
  • Contacts, photos, or other unrelated device content.

Purchases and RevenueCat

Momentum offers a single lifetime in-app purchase that unlocks unlimited boards and full app access. Purchases are handled by:

  • Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android), and
  • RevenueCat, which helps us verify and restore your purchase across reinstalls.

When you buy or restore a purchase, RevenueCat and the applicable app store may process transaction identifiers, purchase status, and device-related information needed to validate your entitlement. We do not receive your payment card details — those are handled solely by Apple or Google.

You can restore your lifetime purchase at any time from Settings → Restore Purchases in the app.

Notifications

If you enable daily reminders, Momentum schedules local notifications on your device at the time you choose. Reminder preferences are stored locally. We do not use notifications to collect personal data or send marketing messages.

Third-Party Services

Momentum relies on the following third parties only as needed for purchases:

Data Retention and Deletion

Because your check-in data lives on your device, you control it:

  • Delete individual boards or entries within the app.
  • Remove all app data by uninstalling Momentum from your device.

Uninstalling the app removes locally stored boards, entries, and settings. Your lifetime purchase remains tied to your Apple ID or Google account and can be restored after reinstalling.

Children's Privacy

Momentum is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of Momentum after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
